Through workshops and community events, we connect and empower artists with (non-apparent) disabilities to explore disability identity and discuss solutions for a more accessible creative practice and industry. Kristin Langer and I founded this initiative as many creatives don’t disclose their disability or access needs due to social stigma, feeling of isolation or not feeling safe to disclose.

The project developed from a residency at WORM, Rotterdam. Since 2022 we organised eight workshops -each with a different guest speaker. Some workshop themes include disability language and pride, balancing self-care with work, or the concept of normality. We also organised an exhibition, a meet up and a pyjama party, all at WORM.

• Event dates for 2024 are 1st June, 5th October, and 7th December.

• We advise and provide accessibility workshops to cultural and educational institutions. Previous partnerships include: Kunsthal Rotterdam, Kunstinstituut Melly, Rotterdam; MaMA, Rotterdam; Bochum Center for Disability Studies, Bochum (DE); Kunstencentrum BUDA (BE); Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam.
